Avenue House is an excellent care home offering residential, dementia and nursing care for the elderly, on the outskirts of Rushden in Northamptonshire.

We provide individual, person-centred care of the highest possible quality for all our residents, providing both short-term and long-term residential care for the elderly and those living with dementia. We also provide respite care for elderly people to give their carers a break.

Over the past 15 years we have been dedicated to providing a safe, secure and caring environment for all our residents. The property was originally three large, detached residences which have been joined together, extended and modernised to provide superb living accommodation.

Avenue House frontage

There are four beautiful communal reception rooms, with one having a well stocked library, and another providing a tea and coffee making area for residents to host their friends and family. The home has three gardens for all the residents to enjoy and many of the rooms look out onto one of these gardens.

Our friendly and experienced team deliver superior quality residential care to our elderly occupants โ€“ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To see more details about our accommodation, check out Avenue House Nursing & Care Home Features.

Our door is always open and we welcome all residents, their families and friends, who wish to be involved in making the home an even better place to live. We believe that it is of the utmost importance that the individual needs, wishes and choices of our elderly care residents are always upheld and respected.

We are delighted to announce that Avenue House has achieved a 'Good' rating (including OUTSTANDING care) through an independent mock CQC inspection! ๐ŸŽ‰

We are extremely proud of our whole team and the high standards of care we provide every single day.

๐Ÿ”Ž What is a CQC inspection?

Every care home is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure they meet legal standards, focusing on safety, effectiveness, and quality of care.

The inspection process evaluates services based on five key areas:

Safe: Are people protected from harm?
Effective: Does care achieve good outcomes for people?
Caring: Do staff treat people with dignity and kindness?
Responsive: Does the service meet people's needs?
Well-led: Is the leadership strong and supportive?

Based on the inspection, homes are rated Inadequate, Requires Improvement, Good, or Outstanding.

๐Ÿ“ What is a mock inspection and why do we do it?

A mock CQC inspection is a practice run of a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, carried out before the real inspectors visit. As with a real CQC inspection, the mock takes place unannounced.

A mock inspection is carried out by an independent provider, in this case Care4Quality, and is designed to test how inspectionโ€‘ready the home is and to highlight any areas for improvement. The inspector speaks with management, our teams, our residents and resident's families.

Jasmine ensures our homes are subject to mock inspections, to ensure our homes are always of the highest standard.

A mock inspection can help spot minor gaps or inconsistences that we can address quickly, help highlight areas where we can continue to improve, and great results raise our team members' confidence.

๐ŸŸขOur Result

Following a surprise inspection on 10 June, we are delighted to receive a 'Good' inspection rating (with OUTSTANDING care!).

Our inspector confirmed that our home is well maintained, our residents well taken care of, and our team are happy!

This outcome is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our whole team at Avenue House ๐Ÿ’š

Congratulations. Keep up the good work x

Northamptonshire has now been placed onto a Red heat alert for this week

Rest asure, our priorities are our residents and team members

To beat the heat ensure you stay out of the sun from 11-3pm

Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated

Apply sun cream & wear hats

Open windows, Close curtains / blinds to keep areas cooler

Use a fan

Wear cooler clothing items

We will be adapting our menus this week for lighter, filling meals and of course we have the ice creams ready

Avenue House also have the pool set up and our water pistols ready ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay safe everyone ๐Ÿ™
